Setting node margin using orthogonal lines

Hi all,

I would like to add a node margin to increase the gap between the edge and the node.

however, setting a node margin results in the below photo when using ortho.
This is when the margin is set to (1, 1).

This is when the margin is set to (0, 0).

I was wondering if the node margin could be set to (0,0) without affecting the heads and tails of edges?
