Hi, I’m glad this editor is improving but the new version erased all the work I saved on the local storage. Do you know if I can recover it?
I’m sorry to hear that. What OS and browser are you using? I’m using Windows 10 and Chrome 127.0.6533.120 and my work is still in that browser’s local storage.
You haven’t changed computer or browser since you created your work? Local storage is local to each computer and browser.
I’m on Windows 11 and I use the last version of Chrome. I haven’t changed computer or browser. My work on the editor has been available for several years and it disappeared at some point in the last two weeks.
I tried to browse the local storage but I don’t have the skills to do that.
Are you using http://magjac.com/graphviz-visual-editor/
or have you set up the editor locally on your computer?
On my Windows 10 machine the data seems to be in AppData/Local/Google/Chrome/User Data/Default/Local Storage/
, but I don’t know how to decode it either. Some Internet searching reveals that there are tools that can do that, but I haven’t tried any of them.
Here’s a Chrome screenshot showing where my projects are stored, but if the editor cannot find them, it’s likely you cannot either.
I use the online editor, not locally.
I found the local storage folder as you did but couldn’t find how to sort the data : by searching keywords, I found passages of my projects in some files however there seems to be no file with the complete version of any of my graphs.
